Our noticeboard contains updates and recommendations received from members of the Essential SENCO Network.

Various Members of the Essential SENCO Network have recommended the following CPD resources and web links.
New SENCO Forum
This Willow Tree Learning website has its own electronic forum! Please register as a member (at no charge) providing your email details and you too will be able to post questions, read and respond to posts. Take a look at the top right hand menu and choose Forum to join us!
As a Professional group we have always had lots to say and share but never more so than at this time. Take a look to see if there are posts relating to supporting children, families and staff as we all discover a 'new normal' living and working alongside the risk of COVID 19.
DfE SEND Guidance
As we know schools and settings are working hard to provide safe learning environments for Staff and Children. The DfE have issued various guidelines including one specifically relating to children with SEND. This can be found here:
Willow Tree Learning has its own COVID 19 Safe Social Distancing Policy and Parental/Carer Consent Form which outlines the actions that will be taken to promote the safety of our Staff and the children and young people we work with. We are able to offer individual consultations and learning assessments applying our safe social distancing procedures as well as providing virtual consultations with Staff and Parents/Carers. Please contact us directly for further information.
National Award in SEN Co-ordination
If you are new to the SENCO role, you are required to complete the National Award in SENCO Co-ordination within the first 3 years of your practice. This Masters accredited course is hosted by the Eastern Partnership and provides 7 face to face teaching days along with excellent electronic resources and support. Venues are available across the Eastern region including in Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Bedforshire and Peterborough. Judith Carter is part of the Tutor Team and hosts training days in Norfolk. Additional information including costs, dates and booking details can be found at:
SENCO New to Role (NTR)
Willow Tree Learning hosts a SENCO New to Role (NTR) course which provides practical advice, support and resources for SENCOs, Assistant SENCOs or SEN Practitioners. This course is a practical 'how to' guide to being a SENCO. It is NOT an alternative to the National Award but is complimentary and pragmatic in its approach.
Delegates attend a half termly training session during the year which are held at the Willow Centre in Norwich.
